Number 3 on our list is: Bosworth Battlefield!
Set in the heart of England near Sutton Cheney, a picturesque village in gentle rolling countryside, this location is one of the best days out in Leicestershire. Everyone has heard of the ‘Battle of Bosworth’, and if you haven’t or your memory of the history of this great battle is a little blurry, then you should definitely make time to take a trip to this location.
The Battle of Bosworth took place on Monday 22 August in 1485. It is where Richard III went into battle against Henry Tudor, losing both the crown and his life and marking a turning point in English history. This venue is not just a field however… In addition to the heritage centre and shop, the Battlefield boasts some great activities that go on all year around. Great for children and adults but steeped in history this isn’t a place you would want to miss off your bucket list!
